But I think it's still even behind where cider from cider fruit is (partly because cider fruit can be grown more quickly). For example, Steve Wood at Farnum Hill is still not at all satisfied with his Perry. Compared to his cider, he feels it has a long way to go.Jeff Alworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02930119177544342495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21271644.post-75771623972667318962014-02-01T18:52:11.714-08:002014-02-01T18:52:11.714-08:00AeppelTreow Winery will be pouring a Wisconsin gro...AeppelTreow Winery will be pouring a Wisconsin grown, English cultivar, perry at Cider Summit Chicago on 2/8/14.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09491126705959246268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21271644.post-66581682746674067692014-01-31T19:12:34.722-08:002014-01-31T19:12:34.722-08:00Did you have any of those delights through the pum...Did you have any of those delights through the pumps, or out of the little boxes stacked behind the bar?Brewers Union Local 180https://www.blogger.com/profile/05786517873195170945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21271644.post-85576494491557405222014-01-31T14:58:33.836-08:002014-01-31T14:58:33.836-08:00Hi Jeff, perry is indeed a "rare beast"...Hi Jeff, perry is indeed a "rare beast" in the US - but it's not just import or dessert-pears. There are small US producers making perry from real, traditional, perry-pears. I've tasted a few perry-pears direct from the trees at Craig Campbell's orchard in Tieton and they're an astringent bomb!

Some producers that make good perry from real perry-pears Bill Lyonhttp://cidersnob.tumblr.comnoreply@blogger.com
