For the beer geek around town, this could be a busy weekend. Today is Earth Day, and you might celebrate with a pint of Eel River Earth Thirst DIPA at the
Guild Pub. One dollar will go off to the Oregon League of Conservation Voters. The beer was specially brewed to celebrate Earth Day. Then you could head off to the
Spring Beer Fest, happening today and tomorrow at the Oregon Convention Center. Or perhaps you would prefer to attend the brewers dinner at
Urban Farmer with Fort George. It will feature pairings with five oyster-centric dishes (though the sixth, chocolate cake, comes sans bivalve). Menu
here (pdf).
On Saturday, the Spring Beer Fest again beckons, and Blazer fans will be pleased to know they'll be showing the game. Another good bet is
Brewpublic's Microhopic fest, featuring beers from Portland's wee breweries. (Two are micro, one nano, and one pico.) The venue is Migration.
No rest for the beery on Sunday. Jacob Grier and Ezra
Johnson-Greenough go upscale with their third Brewing Up Cocktails event at Spints Alehouse the Grain and Gristle, while Beermongers goes downscale with national
Pigs in a Blanket Day. Oakshire beers will be featured in Brewing Up Cocktails, and brewer Matt Van Wyk will be on hand for the event.
So, pick your poison, but carefully: you
will have to choose.
Sounds like it would better to stay home and eat my chocolate bunny!
